What Changed

Before: The coach would sometimes generate lengthy responses with multiple questions stacked together, which felt unnatural and overwhelming.

After: The coach now pauses after asking a single question, giving you space to reflect and respond—just like a human coach would.

Technical Details

We implemented OpenAI's native stop sequences to automatically halt generation after the first question mark followed by a newline. This enforces a natural coaching rhythm: 2-3 sentences of acknowledgment or reflection One thoughtful question

The token budget was increased from 249 to 1000 to ensure complete thoughts before the natural stopping point.

Why This Matters

Coaching is about creating space for you to think. Real human coaches don't fire off multiple questions at once—they ask one, then listen. Now your AI coach does the same.
