Requesting New Coaching Styles
3 min read
Different people respond to different coaching styles. IX Coach is designed to flex so you can get the kind of support that fits you best.
Common coaching styles you can request
Here are a few patterns many users find useful:
Reflective Focused on understanding and insight. > "Help me slow down and really see what’s going on inside." > "Ask me questions that help me notice patterns."
Directive Focused on clear recommendations and next steps. > "Be more direct and tell me what you’d do in my situation." > "Give me two concrete options and help me pick."
Accountability‑focused Focused on follow‑through over time. > "Help me keep track of commitments and check in on them." > "Please ask me about this again next time we talk."
Experimental Focused on trying small experiments instead of big commitments. > "Help me design tiny experiments rather than big plans." > "Let’s test a few approaches and see what we learn."
How to request a new style
If you have an idea for a style that isn’t clearly available yet:
Describe the core of what you want, for example: "A very gentle, trauma‑aware style that stays away from advice." "A highly structured style that always uses the same sequence of questions." Share this in the coaching session _and_ in the public feedback thread so we can see patterns across users.
Over time, we use these requests to design new presets and improve how the system adapts.
