Audit which core area you keep skipping each week

Once a week, check which of the four core modules you did and which you skipped, and write down the first reason for each skip.

Por qué funciona

The Starter Kit compares the four core modules to the rooms of a house: “Take away one of these fundamental rooms and a structure could hardly be called a ‘house.’” A weekly check makes a skipped room visible, so the reason it was skipped can be looked at rather than repeatedly ignored. The house comparison is the authors’ metaphor, not a finding.

Cómo hacerlo

  1. Each week, write the four core modules in a column.
  2. Mark each module done or skipped for the week.
  3. For each skipped module, write the first reason that comes to mind.
  4. Pick one change for the coming week: a shorter practice, a set time, or a different practice in that module.

Evidencia

The four-room comparison and the advice to build from the core modules come from the ILP Starter Kit. The Starter Kit reports no test of a weekly review of this kind. (anecdotal)

The house comparison is a metaphor, and no study of this weekly review was found. Its value depends on the honesty of the reasons written down.

Error común
